It Would Have Been A Disfavour To Cross River If Senator John Owan Enoh Wasn’t Appointed Minister – APC Chieftain Ojage
A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Comrade Obi Ojage has reacted to the appointment of Senator John Owan Enoh as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a statement, Comrade Ojage, a the former member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), noted that it would have been a disfavour to Cross River if Senator John Owan Enoh was not appointed as a Minister in the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
He said, “I had always said that it is quite honourable to support one who has distinguished himself so well in what he does and most especially when he seeks one’s support for purposes of advancing a noble course. I have never deviated from that.”
Comrade Ojage noted that those who are his friends and associates, who know him, can “attest to the fact that I had always practiced what I preached. And for those who followed my trajectory in this game of politics as a king maker would agree that I am not a vindictive human being, I hate gossip, and do not support that aspect of politicking. It is sign of self-defeatishness.”
Speaking on the electoral value of the Minister-designate, Comrade Obi Ojage recallec that when he wrote an article recently that took the centre stage because of his wide readership as an opinion moulder, in which he insisted that Senator John Owan Enoh who has just been appointed Minister in line with his advice or predictions, “I knew the quality he is made off and the fact that he did singlehandedly turn the whole situation of the result in the central Senatorial District in our favour, both the Governorship and for Asiwaju.
“He helped to deliver the entire Central, including the Local Government of our opponent in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the original Caterpillar, Senator Sandy Onor.
“I argued that he should be the first amongst the other two contestants whose name I also mentioned in the writeup as those entitled to be included in the list of nominees for consideration by President Tinubu in line with tradition.
“This is so because of the influence they “wield” haven’t participated in the Governorship contest in the state against the current Governor, Prince Bassey Otu, is the more reason their name should be given recognition before those of us who did not contest. That made logical sense.
“I did argue that Senator Owan’s names should be the first chioce in the Governor’s list for consideration as Minister from Cross River State. I said so with all sense of responsibility and as one who stand for truth at all times.
“I hate vendetta whether the person involved is closed to me or not. Especially against one you know deserves support for his quality of person no matter the differences that had existed hitherto.
“I sincerely thank the Lord God almighty for our brother, Senator John Owan Enoh who has been cleared by the Senate as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, Comrade Obi Ojage said.
