Foremost June 12 Activist AWA Bamiji, Loses Mother

Frontline June 12 activist and pro-democracy crusader, Comrade AWA Bamiji has lost his mother, Madam Rafatu Agbeke Oyebamiji.

The civil society icon, on behalf of the family, in a statement titled “FROM YOU WILL COME, TO YOU WE SHALL RETURN” disclosed that his mother died at the age of 98.

Comrade Bamiji, who is the National Coordinator of the Coalition for A Better Nigeria and President General of the Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, announced that the “8th day Fidau Prayer will take place at Alhaji Sarafa Akinola House, Beside Jinanrere Church, Jinanrere Bus/Stop, Alakia/Isebo Road, Iyana Church, Iwo Road, Ibadan, by 10am prompt.”

The full statement reads:

With heavy hearts but in total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we announce the passing away of our caring mother, Grand mother, Madam Rafatu Agbeke Oyebamiji, who passed on this evening, Monday, 28/08/2023, around 6pm, at the age of 98 years.

She will be buried tomorrow’s morning by 10am according to Islamic Rite at the family House, No 1, Ade Adebalogun street, along Olomi/Aba Alfa Road, Olomi, Akorode LCDA, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The 8th day Fidau Prayer will take place at Alhaji Sarafa Akinola House, Beside Jinanrere Church, Jinanrere Bus/Stop, Alakia/Isebo Road, Iyana Church, Iwo Road, Ibadan, by 10am prompt. Oyebamiji Oyelere and Madam Rafatu Agbeke Oyebamiji.
