Katsina State Commissioner of Environment, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua, has reassured the people of the state that the Governor Dikko Radda-led administration is committed to ensuring continued development in the state.
The Commissioner, who was spoke with our correspondent in an interview in his office at Katsina, said that the policy thrust of the current administration in the state is provision of development projects in all sectors.
He explained that during the electioneering campaign Governor Dikko Umar Radda had gone round the 34 Local Government Areas, listened to people’s views and needs and also promised to face the needs squarely with the aim of tackling them.
He noted that Dikko Radda-led administration in Katsina State is so much concerned about security of lives and property in the and is taking steps to tackling the manace.
Speaking on activities of his Ministry, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua said after he was sworn-in as Commissioner, he took a tour to the Agencies and Departments under the Ministry for familiarisation.
He noted that safe, healthy and habitable environment is the secret to good life which is the aim of the Dikko Radda administration.
He further said ensuring good environment is a collective responsibility, hence the need for people in the State to complement Government’s efforts in that regard.
The environment Commissioner then urged the people to avoid dumping refuse in drainages, which causes flood.
He also coutioned the people of indiscriminate falling of trees, which expands desert encroachment, stressing that Government will take any possible measure against unauthorized falling of trees.
He therefore called on the people of the to rally round the Dikko Radda administration to ensure more meaningful development across the state.
