Delta State Government has debunked a viral public notice circulated on WhatsApp and other social media platforms purportedly empowering special security personnel to monitor and arrest youths found to be indecently dressed across the state.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon in a statement on Saturday said the public notice was fake and did not emanate from any organ of the state government.

He urged the general public to ignore the said publication, adding that any public information emanating from the government must be signed or attributed to the maker of the public information.

The Governor’s spokesman, however urged youths in the state to continue to be of good behaviour and avoid acts that could constitute a breach of peace and security in the state.
