LP National Scribe, Obi-Dati Presidential Campaign Chief Spokesperson, Others Pay New Year Visit To South East Monarch
Labour Party National Secretary, Umar Farouk Ibrahim; the Chief Spokesperson of the Chief Spokesperson of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dr Yunusa Tanko, and some young leaders in Opi Ancient Kingdom in Nsukka local government area of Enugu State, have paid a New Year visit to South East monarch, His Royal Majesty, Eze-Igwe Williams Ezugwu, the Eze Ogbozarra III of Opi Ancient Kingdom and the Igwe of Ibagwa Ogbozarra Opi Autonomous Community at his Ogbodo Opi palace.
Others who also visited the traditional ruler from Opi Nsukka include Agbo Chinedu, Mayor in Opi; Henry Paragon, AIICO Insurance Plc; Onah Sunday Chukwudi popularly known as Yellow Man; a business man, Omeje Ikechukwu, and a host of others.
The Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Chief Spokesperson, Dr Yunusa, told newsmen that the purpose of the visit was felicitate the traditional ruler and appreciate him for the good works he has been doing in his kingdom.
He also noted that the visit was to thank the traditional ruler for his fatherly role in the state in particular and in the country at large, saying that the visit was necessary to draw inspiration and get royal blessings for the tasks ahead.
The monarch, Eze-Igwe Williams Ezugwu who thanks the visitors for the honour prayed for their success in all noble and legimate ventures in the new year and beyond.
The traditional ruler had on December 26th hosted about 500 children in his domain at his annual Christmas celebrations with them.
The children prayed for the monarch as they sang and rejoiced.
Eze-Igwe Ezugwu, who gives scholarship to any of the children that attains the first position in his or her class annually, had handed cash and food items to the children.
