Ramadan: Steel Development Minister Calls for Prayers for the Nation
The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has called on Muslim Ummahs to pray for the peace, unity, and progress of Nigeria as they commence the holy month of Ramadan today.
This is also as the Honourable Minister urges Muslim faithfuls to dwell on the essence of Ramadan by engaging in good deeds, acts of Ibadah, and showing love and kindness to everyone, especially the less privileged.
Prince Audu’s Ramadan message was conveyed in a statement made available by his Special Assistant Media, Lizzy Okoji, on Monday in Abuja.
“I congratulate Muslim Ummahs on the opportunity to witness another Ramadan, as we join brothers across the world to commemorate this holy Month.
“Ramadan, as one of the pillars of Islam, a period of fasting, prayers, abstinence, spiritual growth, and almsgiving. It is an opportunity to purify our soul and bring us closer to Almighty Allah.
“This holy month is also an opportunity for us to pray for the peace, unity, security, and progress of our beloved country, as well as for our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, our leaders, and all those in positions of authority to lead the country to the promised land.
“It is a time to conform to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW): showing love and kindness to our brothers and sisters, especially the underprivileged, irrespective of their faith.
“The nation is at a time where it is confronted with numerous challenges; economic pressures, insecurity, amongst other challenges. Ramadan therefore offers us the opportunity for special prayers for our beloved country,” Audu stated.
Audu noted that Islam is a religion of peace, and love, hence, the need for every Nigerian to dwell on the period of Ramadan, foster peaceful coexistence irrespective of their religion or political affiliation, and shun every form of violence and misdeeds.
“May Almighty Allah accept our sacrifices, and may we receive all the benefits of Ramadan,” Audu stated.
