NSE Hails Gov. Ododo For Appointing Four of its Members, Commends Kogi Works Commissioner
The Chairman of the Kogi State Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), who also doubled as the current Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Yahaya Faruk, has appreciated the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo for the appointment of four of its members into his cabinet.
Hon. Faruk in a courtesy visit with the State Executive of the NSE to the office of the Commissioner for Works in Lokoja recently said the association has not been this blessed since the creation of the state.
The Chairman who was represented by his Vice, Engr. Felix Ajayi Itopa, who expressed his gratitude to Governor Ododo, also congratulated Hon. Engr Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf on his appointment as the Kogi Commissioner for Works.
He also conveyed his overwhelming pleasure for the warm reception by the management of the Kogi State Ministry of Works.
He further described the Commissioner for Works as a unique shining brand who would perform anywhere he found himself, adding that it was his wonderful exploits and matchless intelligence that earned him the exalted position.
While responding, Hon. Engr. Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf appreciated the NSE members for the visit.
He charged them to be resilient and hardworking in their various places of assignment.
He however promised to synergize with his other Honorable colleagues to push for the development of NSE in Kogi State.
In his words ‘It is a great pleasure to have you all, my professional colleagues in my office today. As you all know, we are the brain of the society.
“I want to appreciate your numerous efforts in your places of assignments to contribute to the growth of society. Keep up with the good work.
“As a passionate individual, I can assure you that I will never let you down, nor will I turn my back on this“ noble house. The society is ours to make it better, and we will never relent till we achieve that.
I pray that the Almighty Allah keeps protecting us in the discharge of our duties. God bless you all, and thanks for coming”, he said.
Among members of the association who made valuable contributions during the visit were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Works, Engr Emmanuel O. Audu, the Director of Civil Engineering Engr Sunday Baba, the Director of Mechanical Engineering Engr Muhammed Omeiza, and the Deputy Director of Civil Engineering Engr Alhassan Akubo.
