Why I Visited Labour Party Headquarters – Obi Clears the Air at Abuja Stakeholders Meeting
The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi, has clarified his visit to the party’s national headquarters on Tuesday.
Obi while speaking at the meeting of the Labour Party stakeholders in Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja noted that his visit to the “Labour Party yesterday was not to endorse anybody”, but occassioned by his reconcilliatory move.
Represented by the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) spokesman, Dr Yunusa Tanko, the former Governor of Anambra State noted that “Julius Abure in his speech stated clearly how Obi came to the office”, and Obi in his speech clarified same, while preaching peace, and his mantra “Pursuit of better Nigeria for the Poor”.
Obi who was absent at the stakeholders because he was billed to travel out of the country met with the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)/Trade Union Congress (TUC) political arm, Commorade Titus Amba, represented by Prof Theophilus Ndubuaku, and Comrade Chris Uyot at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Following the extensive discussions on the same peace move with them meeting at the airport, Obi repeatedly maintained that his interest was to carry everybody along into one strong family, and not to support one against the other.
According to Dr Tanko, in all his meetings with all stakeholders, Obi has always maintained peace, and urged them not to lose purpose, which is to free Nigeria suffering and pain.
The LP standards bearer in 2023, he said, plans to continue meeting with critical stakeholders, and groups to achieve all-inclusive political family with a common dream of rescuing Nigeria.
