Anambra’s Ammo Interception: Police Nab Gun-Runner with 375 Live Cartridges
In a remarkable display of vigilance, Anambra Police Command’s operatives have once again demonstrated their crime-fighting prowess. On the 15th of June, 2024, at approximately 1:30 pm, officers attached to the Fegge division made a significant breakthrough.
While patrolling along Niger Street in Onitsha, they apprehended 48-year-old Felix Owaya from Ika South LGA of Delta State, seizing a cache of 375 live cartridges in the process.
The suspect, upon interrogation, revealed that he was acting on instructions from one Mr. Charles Ogboma to deliver the ammunition to an unnamed recipient. The confession has led to an intensive investigation that is currently underway.
CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, the Commissioner of Police, has lauded the officers for their unwavering dedication and urged all personnel within the Command to maintain this high level of crime prevention and detection.
“This is a testament to our commitment to serving and protecting the people of Anambra State,” stated CP Itam.
