In a dramatic turn of events, the National Industrial Court has halted the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) election, scheduled for today, due to alleged irregularities.

The court’s decision comes after a petition filed by Fadeyi Babajide and Saka Laaro, accusing top union officials of manipulating the voter list for the Kwara NUJ election

The court has summoned several high-ranking officials, including the National President, Chris Isiguzo, and the Secretary, Achike Chude, to appear before it.

In a related development, a mild drama unfolded at the Union gate, where a bailiff was denied access to serve the court process.

Meanwhile, an acting Chairman was ordered to delete a video recording of an altercation between two electoral officials.
