Obi Reflects On #EndBadGovernance Protests, Calls For Action Against Growing Poverty, Mass Suffering
The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 poll, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerian leaders to reflect deeply on the growing poverty in the country and show concern for the suffering masses.
In a statement released on Sunday, by Yunusa Tanko, the spokesman of the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), Obi expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during the #EndBadGovernance protests, including security personnel.
Obi extended his heartfelt sympathies to the families who suffered losses during the protests, acknowledging the shared grief in the struggle for better governance.
He also wished a swift recovery to those wounded and recovering in hospitals and at home, appreciating their sacrifices for the nation’s cause.
The Labour Party standard bearer urged leaders to reflect on the cries of the suffering people and address their legitimate demands.
He emphasized the need for urgent attention to issues that sparked and fueled the protests, including insecurity, corruption, hardship, and poverty. Obi called on leaders to take decisive action to resolve these critical issues.
