PDP Nsukka LGA Elects New Executive in Successful Congress

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nsukka Local Government Area (LGA) has elected a new executive team, led by Hon. Chris Ezema as Chairman, following a successful congress held on August 17, 2024. The congress, monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC officials, security personnel, and independent observers, marked the end of the 8-year tenure of the previous executive led by Hon. Fabian Onah (Okanume).

The new executive team includes:

  • Hon. Chris Ezema – Chairman
  • Lady Beatrice Asogwa – Vice-Chairman
  • Hon. Casmir Nnaemeka Ugwunkwo – Secretary
  • Hon. Uchenna Onah – Legal Adviser
  • Hon. Jude Ezugwu – Youth Leader
  • Hon. Chinasa Kate Ogbuanya – Women Leader
  • Hon. Uche Ezugwu – Assistant Secretary
  • Hon. Ikenna Ezeagu – Treasurer
  • Hon. Jude Eze – Organising Secretary
  • Hon. Solomon Onah – Publicity Secretary

Chief Dr. Dan Onumonu Shere emerged as the national delegate from Nsukka LGA.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Chris Ezema thanked the delegates and party members for their trust and appealed for support to deliver the party’s candidate, Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa, as the next Chairman of Nsukka LGC in the October 5, 2024, Chairmanship elections.

The congress was attended by notable party members, including Hon. Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa, the party’s touch-bearer, and his running mate, Hon. Samuel Iyeanyi (Smog Charles). The immediate past Mayor of the LGC, Hon. Barr. Walter Ozioko, and Senior Special Assistant to the governor on New Media, Hon. Reuben Onyishi, were also present.

The new executive team is expected to lead the party towards a successful outing in the upcoming Chairmanship elections and sustain the party’s mantra of “tomorrow is here” in Nsukka LGA.
