ALGON Deputy National President, Hon Moses Nomeh, Sworn-in Alongside Other Elected Chairmen

In a significant milestone for the 3rd Tier of government and local government autonomy, 13 local government chairmen were sworn in at the Ecumenical Center in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

The event marked a notable compliance with the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the July 11th Supreme Court judgment.

Leading the newly sworn-in chairmen was ALGON Deputy National President and Chairman of Ezza North Local Government, Hon Moses Nomeh. In his address, Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon Barr Francis Nwifuru, congratulated the chairmen and outlined a clear agenda focused on prioritizing stakeholders’ welfare to enhance service delivery.

Governor Nwifuru emphasized the importance of maintaining a symbiotic relationship among vice chairmen, executive assistants, stakeholders, and the people to achieve lasting democratic dividends.

The ceremony drew a large crowd from all 13 LGAs, including stakeholders, National Assembly members, support groups, families, friends, and associates. Notable attendees included the ALGON National delegation led by Hon Bawa Jaja, Kaduna ALGON Chairman, Ag DG Barr Evans Enekwe, and Deputy Director, Protocol/Public Relations Venatus Okafor.
