The Chairman of Enugu State Traditional Rulers’ Council, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu (Igwe Ogadagidi, Igwe Nwere Ngabasi, Igwe Nwere Swag), has extended heartfelt congratulations to the chairman-elect of Nsukka Local Government Council, Chief Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa, and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates on their resounding victories in the just-concluded council elections.

In a congratulatory press release issued on Tuesday in Nsukka, Igwe Asadu described Asogwa’s victory as a reflection of the will of the people, demonstrating their confidence in his leadership. He expressed optimism that the Nsukka LGC under Asogwa’s leadership would experience significant progress, positively impacting communities, especially rural dwellers.

Asadu, who is also the traditional ruler of Edem-Ani Ogwugwu Ancient Kingdom in Nsukka LGA, extended his congratulations to other PDP candidates who emerged victorious as chairmen and councillors in their respective local government councils and wards.

“I, on behalf of my Royal Family and the good people of Edem-Ani Ogwugwu Ancient Kingdom, extend my warmest congratulations to Chief Jude Asogwa on his well-deserved victory in the just-concluded Enugu State Council elections,” Igwe Asadu stated.

He commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for providing an enabling environment that ensured the election’s success, highlighting the governor’s commitment to human development, human-oriented governance, and grassroots development as key factors contributing to the overall success and PDP victory.

Asadu praised the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) for conducting a transparent and efficient electoral process, upholding fairness and credibility principles, which strengthened democracy at the grassroots level in Enugu State.

“The success of these elections is a positive indicator of a brighter future for the local government councils in Enugu State,” Igwe Asadu noted. “We are confident that Chief Jude Asogwa and his colleagues will work tirelessly to deliver meaningful projects and campaign promises to the people, creating a more prosperous and inclusive society for all.”

The traditional ruler’s congratulations were echoed by other stakeholders, including Jerry Onuokaibe, CEO of First Choice Afro Villa Ltd and Mburubu Construction Company Ltd, who also congratulated the chairman-elect and other PDP chairmen.

The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) had declared the results of the local government council elections held on September 21, 2024, across 17 local government councils and 260 political wards in the state.

Asogwa’s victory, along with other PDP candidates, is seen as a testament to the party’s popularity and the people’s trust in its leadership. Igwe Asadu’s endorsement reinforces the widespread support for the newly elected officials.

As the newly elected chairmen and councillors prepare to assume office, Igwe Asadu urged them to remain committed to serving the people, ensuring that their campaign promises are fulfilled.

The congratulatory message from Igwe Asadu is a significant endorsement, reflecting the traditional institution’s confidence in the elected officials. His words of encouragement and support underscore the importance of collaborative leadership in driving development at the grassroots level.

In conclusion, the success of the Enugu LG polls marks a new chapter in the state’s development journey. With Igwe Asadu’s congratulations and endorsement, Chief Jude Asogwa and other elected officials are poised to deliver impactful leadership, transforming the lives of Enugu State citizens.
