Kogi State Government Reaffirms Commitment to Entertainment Industry for Peace and Progress
The Kogi State Government has reiterated its dedication to promoting the entertainment industry as a catalyst for stability and advancement in the state.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo made this commitment clear during a visit from the Igala Performing Gospel Musicians Association (IPGMA) at his office in Lokoja.
Represented by Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu, Governor Ododo praised music as a lively, creative, and philosophical medium, emphasizing its ability to inspire and uplift people’s souls.
He urged artists to continue producing inspirational music, influencing the power of God in the state, and called for prayers and support from the group for the state’s progress.
Governor Ododo also emphasized his selfless commitment to serving the people, appealing to the three districts of the state to unite as one.
He highlighted his administration’s resolution to pay full salaries to all workers and implement a minimum wage of 72,500 Naira to enhance their welfare and contribute to the state’s development.
The Governor commended Reverend Elijah Abalaka, Patron of IPGMA, for his ingenuity in Christian music production, noting its transformative impact globally. He promised to consider the group’s request, encouraging unity, support, and prayerfulness to reap the benefits of the current administration.
Evangelist Joseph Jacob, President of IPGMA, congratulated Governor Ododo and Deputy Governor Salifu on their election and Supreme Court victory, describing them as dedicated servant leaders.
Reverend Elijah Abalaka noted that their journey to greatness has just begun and appealed for government assistance in providing state-of-the-art instruments for gospel propagation.
The visit culminated in a presentation of songs led by Deputy Governor Salifu, followed by Reverend Abalaka’s prayers for the administration’s success.
