Building a Strong Marriage: Kogi Deputy Governor Salifu Gives Words of Advice to Newly Married
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, recently advised newly married couples to prioritize God as the cornerstone of their unions to build a strong marriage.
Speaking at the traditional engagement ceremony of his nephew, Isaiah Ugbede Salifu, and his bride in Ofejiji Ochadamu, Ofu Local Government Area on Saturday, November 2, 2024, Salifu emphasized that while weddings are joyful, a strong marriage is more valuable than any material possession.
Salifu encouraged the couple to establish a deep connection with God, making Him the primary foundation and anchor of their marital bond.
He also advised them to engage in heartfelt prayers for guidance and strength to overcome forces against marriage.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of treating each other with kindness, respect, and compassion.
The Deputy Governor prayed for God’s blessings upon the union and requested divine guidance as they begin their life together. This advice reflects Salifu’s commitment to serving the people of Kogi State, as he also emphasized that the government exists for the benefit of its citizens.
As the Deputy Governor, Salifu has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the welfare of Kogi State residents.
Recently, he praised the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KSIEC) for overseeing a peaceful and transparent electoral process during the local government election.
