Sit-at-Home: Anambra Police Commissioner Itam Leads Security Advocacy in Idemili North
Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Obono Itam convened a strategic meeting with key leaders of Idemili North Local Government Area on November 6, 2024, to address security concerns and threats linked to Monday movement restrictions in Anambra State.
The gathering at Ogidi Divisional Police Headquarters brought together Chairman Hon. Stanley Nkwoka, traditional rulers, community presidents, and members of the Anambra Vigilante and Police Community Relations Committee.
CP Itam urged residents, community leaders, and local organizations to collaborate with the police in countering criminal activities and resisting security threats associated with the no-movement directive otherwise known as sit-at-home on Mondays.
He emphasized the value of public trust in the police and other security agencies, assuring that this confidence would not be taken for granted.
In response, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka pledged to expedite the renovation of damaged police facilities, including the Ogidi Police Area Command Headquarters.
Traditional rulers, represented by His Royal Highness Godwin Nwabunwanne, also vowed to maintain security awareness efforts among local communities, stressing collective vigilance and cooperation.
The Anambra State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a secure and peaceful environment in collaboration with all stakeholders.
