Nigeria’s President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has arrived in Paris, France, accompanied by his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The three-day state visit, which began on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and France.

The Nigerian delegation includes the Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, who will participate in high-level meetings with other ministers and the French delegation.

These meetings are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the areas of defence and security.

The state visit is a significant step towards strengthening the existing relationship between Nigeria and France.

In January 2024, the Nigerian Government expressed its commitment to maintaining bilateral relations on defence with France.

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, had emphasized the importance of building on the existing relationship between the two countries.

The visit is scheduled to conclude on Friday, November 29, 2024.

As Nigeria continues to navigate the complexities of regional and global security, this state visit is expected to yield significant benefits for the country’s defence and security architecture.
