Antony Manyara Awarded Honorary Doctorate for Leadership and Youth Advocacy
Antony Manyara, an architect, a student leader, and President of the Kenya Universities Students Organization (KUSO), has been honoured with an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD Honoris Causa) by Weldios University of Management and Technology in Abuja, Nigeria. He is also the President of East African Students Union (EASU).
This prestigious recognition celebrates Manyara’s unwavering dedication to youth empowerment, education, and leadership across Kenya and beyond.
Expressing his gratitude, Manyara thanked WELDIOS University for the honor, highlighting his commitment to leadership and youth advocacy, saying “I take this opportunity to thank Weldios University for this great honour; an award of Honorary Doctorate Degree (PhD Honoraris Causa) Philosophy in Leadership and Youth Advocacy. God bless Weldios. God bless UoN.”
KUSO also celebrated this achievement, praising Manyara’s impactful leadership and tireless advocacy for youth, which continues to inspire many.
Manyara, who was attending the 2024 Africa Student Leaders’ General Assembly, which was organised by the All-Africa Students’ Union (AASU) in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, has been a prominent advocate for student and youth issues in Kenya, championing policies and initiatives that enhance education access, entrepreneurship, and governance.
Weldios University, a bilingual institution (English and French), with unique philosophy focused on nation-building through practical and problem-based approach to teaching and learning, commended his efforts to uplift communities through advocacy and education.
With this honorary doctorate, it is believed that Dr Antony Manyara would further solidify his influence in leadership circles across the continent.
