All is now set for the grand opening of the African Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED) Core building which is a World Bank-Assisted project domiciled at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) on Thursday, 19 December 2024 at10.00 am at ACE-SPED building, opposite Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UNN.
Extending the invitation to everyone, the Director of the centre, Prof. Emenike Chinaedozi Ejiogu, said that hhis event would feature the commissioning of the ultra-high tech materials characteristics lab, 3D innovative electronics prototyping lab and centre for competence in digital education ( C-CoDE) ultra Modern Studio.
According to him, the mandate of the centre is to proffer sustainable solutions for power and energy challenges peculiar to the sub-saharan Africa through impactful educational research.
He noted that all their programs included M. Eng., M. Sc. and Ph.D in renewable and new energy systems, M. Eng., M. Sc. and Ph.D in power engineering , among others, adding that all their programs were fully accredited by the National University’s Commission (NUC) and that they have limited scholarship programs for their students.
Engr. Prof. Emenike Chinaedozi Ejiogu, is the Director/ Centre Leader as well as the Host, Prof. Polycarp Emeka Chigbu, the Acting Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Host and Prof. Cosmas Anyanwu is the contact person.
