The Traditional Ruler of Eziani Ancient Kingdom, who also serves as the Chairman of the Nsukka Local Government Area (LGA) Traditional Rulers’ Council, has introduced a new tradition by organizing the first-ever end-of-year celebration for the esteemed custodians of culture.

The event, held at the grand ‘Obu’ Nsukka on Sunday, December 15, 2024, was a well-organized affair that turned into a vibrant carnival, attracting dignitaries from across the country.

In his address, the leading traditional ruler of Nsukka LGA expressed gratitude to God for His blessings and protection over him and his council members throughout the year. He also prayed for the repose of two council members who passed away during the year and thanked God for the new additions to the families of some colleagues.

The Chairman of Nsukka LGA Traditional Rulers’ Council, also known as Ezeani 1 of Eziani Kingdom and Oke-Ozo Ojide Onyibe, praised the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his transformative leadership, describing him as a game changer whose achievements are evident to all.

The event was graced by prominent Nsukka sons and daughters, including Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi, former Governor of Enugu State, represented by Hon. Dr. SamDavid Amaechi Ugwu, his former aide. Other notable attendees included the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGC, Hon. Engr. Sir Jude Chinedu Asogwa, represented by his Vice, Hon. Iyianyi Samuel Chidiebere, Distinguished Senator Chukwuka Utazi, former Senator of Enugu North Senatorial District, Hon. Pius Ezugwu, Member Representing Nsukka East State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Prof. Sam Onyeisi, Managing Director of Enugu State Agricultural Development Programme (ENADEP), traditional rulers, and captains of industry, among others.
