UNN Organises 2024 Convocation Ceremony, To Graduate 11,143 Students

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka will graduate 11,143 students who will receive degrees and diplomas on Friday, 20 December 2024 at the University.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof. Polycarp Emeka Chigbu announced this during the pre-convocation press briefing at Enugu Campus of the University. He said that out of the number, 195 would graduate with first class honours, while 4,165 would graduate with second class honours (upper division) and 5,297 would get second class honours (lower division).

He further said that 669 would receive third class, 22 pass, 889 unclssif while 16 are for diploma.

On the other hand, Prof. Chigbu said 1,356 are for postgraduate degrees and diplomas.

Out of 1,356, he said 431 will get doctorate degrees, 848 masters degrees while 77 are for diplomas.

Revealing the Convocation activities, he said the ceremony begins a Convocation lecture titled “Harnessing Technological Teaching and Learning” to be delivered by Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN), President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) while the Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. HON. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri would Chair the Convocation Lecture which began today.

On Saturday, according to the Acting VC, two prominent Nigerians would be given Honorary doctorate degrees while two retired Professors would be given the distinguished professor emeritus.
