In a heartfelt Christmas message, Hon. Engr. Bello Lawal Yandaki, the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), extended warm greetings and felicitations to the residents of Nigeria’s 774 Local Governments and Area Councils, as well as to all Christians celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

Hon. Yandaki emphasized the profound significance of Christmas, highlighting the values that Jesus Christ embodied: love, compassion, kindness, and selflessness. He urged everyone to remember the millions of rural dwellers facing hardships such as poverty, disease, hunger, and social insecurity.

Reflecting on recent events, Hon. Yandaki expressed his condolences to the families affected by the palliative mishaps in Okija, Ibadan, and Abuja. He appreciated the goodwill of donors and encouraged others to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ, especially during this season.

Addressing the challenges confronting the nation, particularly at the grassroots level, Hon. Yandaki called for a proactive and inclusive approach to addressing hunger and delivering services within limited resources. He committed to building on the gains recorded by past leaders to create a strong, development-driven community that respects the rights of all individuals.
