Delta State LGAs Witness Renaissance Under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori – ALGON Chair Hon Esiovwa
The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Delta State Chapter, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his outstanding leadership and commitment to good governance. In a goodwill message, ALGON Chairman Hon Chief Isaiah Esiovwa praised the governor’s efforts in transforming Delta State into a model of excellence.
Esiovwa noted that Governor Oborevwori’s administration has achieved remarkable milestones in various sectors, including infrastructural development, rural electrification, urban renewal, job creation, healthcare, and education. He attributed these successes to the governor’s innovative leadership and the collaborative efforts of the 25 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state.
The ALGON chairman emphasized that the LGAs have played a crucial role in driving these achievements, working in synergy with the state government to deliver people-oriented dividends. He also commended the LGAs for their commitment to improving their internally generated revenue, ensuring financial stability, and supporting the governor’s vision for the state.
Governor Oborevwori’s vision for Delta State is to create a state where every citizen has access to opportunities and resources to thrive. This vision, according to Esiovwa, aligns with the biblical principle, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).
As the festive season unfolds, ALGON Delta State Chapter has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the momentum of excellence in governance, working closely with Governor Oborevwori and the state government to achieve maximum results. The governor’s administration has been recognized for its transparency and accountability, ranking among the top 10 in the 2024 Governance Accountability and Transparency Index (G.A.T.I).
With the continued support of ALGON and the LGAs, Governor Oborevwori’s administration is poised to achieve even greater heights in the coming year, solidifying Delta State’s position as a model of excellence in governance.
