Kogi State on the Path to Rapid Growth and Development – Governor Ododo Reiterates
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the rapid growth and development of the state. Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, Governor Ododo made the statement during the inauguration of the Nyamkpo Community Electrification Project in Bassa Local Government Area.
The governor emphasized that his administration will spare no effort in providing rapid infrastructural development for the state, highlighting the significance of electricity in the people’s daily lives.
He noted that reliable electricity supply is crucial for private enterprises to function smoothly, and assured residents that measures are being taken to address electricity challenges in Kogi East.
Governor Ododo disclosed that the state government is undertaking various infrastructural projects, including the rehabilitation of Dekina Bassa road, Idah to Ibaji Road, and the construction of the Shintaku-Lokoja bridge.
He pointed out that improvements in salary and pension payments, as well as the fight against insecurity, are just the beginning of the advancements the state is poised to witness.¹
The governor commended the Nyamkpo Community Development Union for their efforts in establishing the electrification project, assuring them of the government’s commitment to bringing the dividends of democracy to the residents of the state.
Prior to the inauguration, Deputy Governor Joel Salifu paid a royal visit to the palace of ETSU of Bassa Nge Kingdom, HRH Rtd. General Abuh Alih, to seek royal blessings.
Governor Ododo’s administration has been marked by significant achievements, including efforts to boost food security, improve healthcare, and enhance education.
