The State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Abia state, Hon. Nnadozie Nwogwugwu, has commended Governor Alex Otti’s administration for its outstanding achievements, which have set an impressive trajectory for the rebuilding process and sparked a brighter future for Abians.

In his Christmas and New year goodwill message to the Abia constituents, The ALGON Chairman highlighted Governor Otti’s leadership achievements noting that it has been characterized by a unique blend of innovative business acumen and human capital development expertise, prioritizing the welfare of civil servants and retirees. His administration has cleared backlogs of pension arrears and instituted a new payment system, ensuring prompt and full disbursement of pensions alongside workers’ salaries on or before the 28th of every month.

In the healthcare sector, he said that Governor Otti has approved a substantial budget to enhance service delivery, provided an enabling environment for the Abia State University to function effectively, and implemented measures to reduce maternal and child mortality.

He added that his administration has also launched a comprehensive plan to reconstruct and remodel schools across the state, resulting in the reconstruction of 170 primary and 51 secondary schools to meet 21st-century standards.

Speaking further, he acknowledged that Governor Otti’s administration has pioneered 20 Smart Schools across all Local Government Areas, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and best practices. The Presidential Executive Order 5, which promotes Ease of Doing Business, has witnessed significant improvements in the state, attracting local and foreign investors.

Hon Nwogwugwu in his words said “Aa development expert, His Excellency Governor Otti’s establishment of the Abia Global Economic Advisory Council has provided a platform for creative win-win development for all with LGAs inclusive, underscoring his commitment to building a self-sustaining economic ecosystem for Abians.

“The administration’s infrastructural development agenda is gaining traction, with projects ranging from power generation to the establishment of standard ultramodern shops, and the groundbreaking ceremony of the Abia Airport Project.

“I enjoin all well meaning Abians to support these ambitious efforts of Governor Otti in his fantastic vision for Abia which are nurtured with unprecedented growth and development.

“Honestly, the upgrade of the Abia Airport to an International Cargo airport, making Abia an internationally business-oriented state is another valid testimony of pride of governance and development initiative”.

Hon. Nnadozie Nwogwugwu urged all Abians to support Governor Otti’s leadership programmes, emphasizing that the administration’s achievements are based on verifiable facts which is designed to revolutionalize the fortunes of the state pledging the unflinching loyalty of the LGAs to sustain the mornumental projects in the state and looks forward to an exciting 2025.

The council chairman expressed the commitment of his colleagues in the state to supporting Governor Otti’s development agenda with accountability, fiscal responsibility, transparency, community engagement, and service delivery.
