Delta State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has highlighted the numerous achievements of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration in the past 19 months.

Speaking at a press briefing in Asaba, Aniagwu emphasized that the Governor is committed to delivering more projects, rather than engaging in political battles.

According to Aniagwu, Governor Oborevwori has kept faith with the continuation and completion of inherited projects, while also initiating new ones.

The Governor’s focus on infrastructure development has led to significant improvements in the state’s road network, with several projects completed and ongoing.

In the education sector, the administration has made significant strides, establishing and operationalizing new institutions and upgrading facilities in existing ones.

The healthcare sector has also seen significant investments, with upgraded facilities in several general hospitals and primary healthcare centres.

The administration has also made efforts to diversify the state’s economy, including sealing a deal with UTM LNG to harness the huge reserves of natural gas in the state.

Additionally, the Governor has demonstrated fiscal discipline, paying over N200 billion to liquidate the state’s debt stock and mobilizing contractors with new jobs.

Aniagwu noted that Governor Oborevwori is committed to governance, rather than politics, and is focused on delivering projects that will improve the lives of Deltans.

“His business, at the moment, is governance and he is not going to lose sight of it,” Aniagwu said.

The Commissioner also emphasized that the Governor is not interested in fighting political battles, but rather in responding to critics with the delivery of more projects.

“We have seen a whole lot of publications in different places, including those that are insinuating that he is leaving the PDP. Oborevwori is a very proud member of the Peoples Democratic Party,” Aniagwu stated.

Aniagwu further quoted the Governor as saying, during the UPU celebration at Uvwiamuge-Agbarho, in Ughelli North Local Government Area, that Deltans should support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as it is equal to supporting him.
