…Declares Readiness to Collaborate with Government for Continued Progress
The Enugu North Zonal Traditional Rulers’ Council, led by its Chairman, His Royal Highness, Igwe Herbert Nwanosike Ukuta, (Agbarakata III of Igga Ancient Kingdom), on Friday, 24 January 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area and the state Vice Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State, Barr. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze at the Igbo-Eze South Government headquarters, Ibagwa-Aka.
During the meeting, Igwe Ukuta emphasised the significance of the visit, noting that it provided an important opportunity for the traditional rulers to commend the government’s efforts and to offer continued encouragement for further advancements.
He commended the collaborative efforts between the local and state governments in meeting the priority needs of the people, stressing the vital role such partnerships play in fostering development at the grassroot level.
“This visit is of great importance to us, as it serves as an avenue to recognise the great works done by the Local Government and to offer our support for the continued progress of our people.
“We recognise the efforts of the State Government in fostering an inclusive administration and we stand ready to work together in ensuring that these initiatives reach every corner of our communities”, Igwe Ukuta remarked.
Barr. Ukwueze expressed deep appreciation to the traditional rulers for the continued support extended to him and his brother chairmen in the pursuit of effective grassroot governance.
He called on the Royal Fathers to remain resolute in their support to the government. “I am truly grateful for your visit and the immense support you have shown not only to me, but also to my brother chairmen in the zone. Your continued partnership is crucial in ensuring that we deliver meaningful governance to the people at the grassroot level”, Barr. Ukwueze said.
He further called on the Traditional Rulers to remain steadfast in their support for the Governor Mbah administration, describing it as one that is disruptive in its innovative approach, people-centered and inclusive in nature, highlighting the on-going projects across 260 electoral wards in the state, such as the Smart Green Schools, the Type 2 Health Facilities and 10 kilometer road with the Enugu North Zone being a significant beneficiary of these transformative initiatives.
“Let us remain steadfast in our support for the administration of Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, a man I describe as a modern wonder in the realm of governance, whose insightful and transformative initiatives are constantly and remarkably benefiting our zone”, he added.
The meeting underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between the traditional institution and the government to ensure effective governance and continuous development at the local level.
