The National Headquarters of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has honoured the President of the All-Africa Students’ Union (AASU), H.E. Osisiogu Osikenyi E., with the prestigious Icon of Leadership Award.
The national recognition, NANS inscribed on the award plaque, is a testament to his selfless service, capacity building, and human capital enhancement through creative engagement and purposeful leadership.
The award, presented to him on the sideline of NANS’ Cyber Security Awareness and Best Practices conference in Abuja at the weekend acknowledged H.E. Osikenyi’s tireless efforts in promoting the welfare and interests of African students, as well as his commitment to fostering a prosperous nation for all.
The event was organised by the National ex-Officio 1 of NANS, Comrade Muniretu Isah to education students and protect them from cyber threats, which have become increasingly prevalent in this digital age.
H.E. Osisiogu Osikenyi was honoured alongside other individuals and students leaders, including the National President of NANS, Comrade Lucky Emonefe.
As the leader of the AASU, H.E. Osisiogu has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, guiding the organization towards achieving its goals and objectives.
The AASU, with its presence in no fewer than 54 African countries, is the largest student movement on the continent.
The organization has played a significant role in promoting students’ rights, quality education, and democratic governance. Under H.E. Osikenyi’s leadership, the AASU is poised to continue its advocacy for the interests of African students.
The Icon of Leadership Award is a well-deserved recognition of H.E. Osikenyi’s dedication and service to the student community.
In his remarks, H.E. Osisiogu appreciated the Nigerian Students’ body and noted that the prestigious award would continue to serve as a motivation for him, especially as the award was coming from his home country’s students’ union, the National Association Of Nigerian Students.
