The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has issued a disclaimer stating that it is not currently recruiting, contrary to information circulating on various media platforms. According to the Commission, the information, which includes the Commission’s website and the name of the Director (Recruitment and Appointment), is fictitious and should be disregarded.¹
The FCSC warned members of the public to be cautious of fake recruitment syndicates and racketeers, emphasizing that there is no ongoing recruitment exercise. The Commission assured that any future recruitment exercises will be publicly announced on national dailies and the Commission’s website.
This disclaimer is not the first of its kind, as the FCSC has previously disowned recruitment exercises and warned of fake syndicates.² ³ The Commission’s warning serves as a reminder to job seekers to verify information through official channels before taking any action.
In a bid to curb the activities of fake recruitment syndicates, the FCSC has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. By doing so, the Commission aims to protect unsuspecting job seekers from falling prey to fraudulent schemes.
As the FCSC continues to work towards a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, it is essential for the public to rely on credible sources of information and exercise caution when encountering recruitment advertisements.
