Peter Obi Mourns Death of Nigerian Soldiers

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has condemned the recent attacks on Nigerian soldiers, resulting in the loss of many lives.

According to reports, at least 35 Nigerian soldiers have been killed in the line of duty this month alone. Obi described the attacks as “totally condemnable” and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers and the Nigerian Army.

“Our courageous soldiers have remained resolute in the fight against insecurity,” Obi said. “It is utterly heartbreaking to read the reports of their tragic deaths, orchestrated by terrorists.”

Obi specifically mentioned the terrorist attack on an army base in Malam-Fatori town in Borno state, where about 20 Nigerian soldiers lost their lives. He also referred to the unfortunate death of about four soldiers in Lagos, who were killed in a vehicle accident outside the barracks.

“I encourage them not to be dispirited by these painful attacks but to strengthen their resolve to stamp out this monster of insecurity from our nation,” Obi said. “May God grant eternal rest to the dead, grant us all the fortitude to bear their losses, and grant quick healing to the injured.”
