In a groundbreaking move, Hon. Ikenna Adikibe, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Imo State and the Executive Chairman of Oru West Local Government Area, has made a historic investment in the health future of Oru West’s people a feat that aligns with his campaign promises.
This monumental initiative by the Chairman has sponsored 2,000 beneficiaries into the Imo Care programme, a brainchild of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
The Chairman, Chief Adikibe’s vision was inspired by Governor Uzodimma’s leadership, aiming to complement the existing programme funded by the Governor. This move has been widely appreciated and applauded by numerous Imolites including Hon. Uche Ekwunife, the Executive Secretary of Imo State Health Insurance Agency, who praised Hon. Adikibe’s people-oriented approach to widening access to healthcare.
As a clarion call to action the Executive Secretary has urged the remaining 26 Local Government Areas in Imo State to emulate the Chairman Hon. Adikibe’s leadership qualities and consolidate the gains of democratic governance under Governor Uzodimma.
He said that Hon. Adikibe’s innovative strategies have consistently demonstrated his character and capacity since his election as Chairman thereby promoting the Hope Uzodimma Leadership Trajectory in the state with his vision for the healthcare system gaining momentum.
He further expressed optimism that with Chairman Adikibe’s initiative being a flagship testament to the Governor’s effective leadership with his commitment aimed at improving healthcare in Imo State which has been evident in his various initiatives, including the Imo Care programme.
As Imo State continues on this path of revolutionary healthcare transformation, one thing is clear: the future of healthcare in Imo State looks brighter than ever.
