Oturikang Empowerment Initiative Launches Education Endowment Fund for Students of Northern Cross River State

The Oturikang Empowerment Initiative (OEI) has unveiled an Education Endowment Fund aimed at providing financial support for eligible students from Northern Cross River State. This groundbreaking initiative targets students from five local government areas—Bekwarra, Obanliku, Obudu, Ogoja, and Yala—studying at select institutions.

The Education Endowment Fund is open to students of the University of Calabar, University of Cross River State, and the Degree Program Unit of the Federal College of Education, University of Education and Entrepreneurship (formerly College of Education) in Akamkpa.

Additionally, students of the Federal Polytechnic Ugep and the Institute of Technology and Management Ugep are eligible to apply.

Successful applicants will receive a maximum of NGN100,000 per academic session, with funds disbursed directly to the students’ institutions of study. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, and only those originating from the aforementioned local government areas are eligible for consideration. Notably, applications submitted by proxies will not be accepted.

The Oturikang Empowerment Initiative has underscored its commitment to transparency and accountability. Following the disbursement of funds, a detailed report will be made public within 14 days of the final disbursement. This report may include certain applicant information, as noted in the consent provisions of the application form.
