While Umar Mukthar, the current REC for Borno, has been reappointed for a second term, Johnson Silnikiem has been named as the new REC for Bayelsa.

Additionally, three other commissioners—Umar Yusuf Garba (Kano), Saad Umar (Bauchi), and Chukwuemeka C. Ibeziako (Anambra)—have retained their positions.

The letter emphasized compliance with Section 154(1) of the Nigerian Constitution and requested the Senate to expedite the confirmation process for the nominees. It concluded with an appeal for prompt consideration, underscoring the President’s highest regard for the Senate.
