In a message brimming with warmth and inclusivity, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, has extended his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr 2025. The Deputy Governor also expressed his gratitude to his Principal, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the Advance New Direction Government for their unwavering leadership.
Comrade Salifu commended Muslims across Kogi State and Nigeria for successfully completing the month-long Ramadan fast, a spiritual journey marked by fasting, prayer, and acts of charity. He acknowledged their sacrifices and prayed for divine blessings to lead to a prosperous and beautiful future.
Reflecting on the significance of Eid Al-Fitr, Salifu remarked, “During this joyous moment, I firmly believe that all Muslims have been revitalized by the profound meaning and essence of life. By following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), you have embraced the values of righteousness, generosity, affection, self-discipline, and good behavior in your daily endeavors.”
The Deputy Governor urged all residents of Kogi State to uphold these teachings and foster a spirit of respect and inclusivity. He emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “Let us cultivate a spirit of respect and inclusivity towards one another, regardless of our religious beliefs, ethnic backgrounds, tribal differences, or political allegiances, as we strive to leverage our strengths and opportunities to put our beloved State on the global map.”
Concluding his message, Salifu expressed his hope that the blessings of Ramadan would bring positive transformation to the lives of all. “It is my sincere wish that the concluded Ramadan Fast will not be our final experience of this sacred practice, and may the blessings of our supplications rain down upon us, bringing positive transformation to our lives, Amen.”
