Two explosive divorce cases have captured attention across Nigeria and Zambia, both highlighting the complex dynamics of troubled marriages.

In Nigeria, Olabode dragged his wife, Olapeju, to the Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan, seeking dissolution of their 17-year union. He accused her of constant fighting, infidelity, violence, and threats to his life.

The most shocking revelation was that Olapeju allegedly drew a knife at him during a heated argument, forcing him to avoid sleeping at home due to fear of being attacked.

Olabode further claimed his wife’s immoral behavior made him a laughingstock, accusing her of dating a neighbor’s husband and other men. Despite denying the accusations, Olapeju agreed to divorce.

The case has been adjourned as the court president, Mrs S.M. Akintayo, adjourned the case until May 7.

Meanwhile, in Zambia, drama unfolded at the Ndola Main Local Court as Norman Ng’uni sought a divorce from his wife of nearly 30 years, Noreen Chisanza.

But his wife, Noreen, fiercely resisted his attempt, arguing she endured hardships alongside her husband only for him to now pursue younger women after achieving financial success.

Norman claimed he feared for his life, alleging he caught Noreen trying to bewitch him—accusations she refuted. Noreen highlighted their marital troubles began in 2018, with Norman’s alleged affair and neglect fueling their disputes.

However, the magistrate, Elizabeth Banda, adjourned the case for judgment.
