Despite being thousands of miles away in Europe, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains firmly in charge of Nigeria’s affairs, according to a statement released Wednesday by Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.
The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy confirmed that President Tinubu, who departed Paris for London over the weekend, is maintaining constant communication with key government officials.
He continues to oversee critical national issues, including giving security directives to tackle emerging threats across the country.
“President Tinubu remains fully engaged in Nigeria’s governance even though he is away in Europe,” the statement read.
Onanuga stressed that the President’s absence is temporary and aligns with the previously communicated two-week timeframe.
Tinubu’s return to the Aso Villa is expected immediately after the Easter holiday as scheduled, with officials assuring Nigerians that governance remains uninterrupted.
“The President’s commitment to his duties remains unwavering, and his administration continues to function effectively under his leadership,” Onanuga added.
The Presidency expressed appreciation for the public’s concern, emphasizing that there is no vacuum in leadership during Tinubu’s time abroad.
Tinubu’s trip comes amid heightened security challenges in parts of the country, but the Presidency insists the Commander-in-Chief is actively issuing orders and monitoring developments back home.
