The National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. (Engr.) Bello Lawal Yandaki, has, in his Easter message, called on all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of unity, peace, and compassion as Christians across the country celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Addressing Christian faithful in the 774 Local Government Areas and Area Councils nationwide, Lawal extended warm greetings and expressed hope that the sacred season would inspire joy, renewed hope, and national solidarity. He emphasized that despite the nation’s religious diversity, Nigerians are united in their common quest for peace, progress, and prosperity.
Lawal acknowledged the deep significance of Easter to Christians, noting that the values it represents — love, kindness, and compassion — are essential for building stronger, more harmonious communities. He urged citizens to use the opportunity of the Easter celebration to promote interfaith understanding, tolerance, and cooperation across all spheres of society.
Expressing solidarity with Christian citizens during the festive period, the ALGON President wished them celebrations filled with love, laughter, and warmth. He encouraged all Nigerians, regardless of faith, to embody the true essence of Easter by embracing forgiveness, kindness, and service to humanity.
As the nation navigates its path toward greater development, Lawal called on citizens to work together in building a society where every individual can thrive and achieve their full potential. He concluded his message with prayers for renewed hope, national unity, and divine guidance for Nigeria’s future.
