In a landmark move to strengthen community identity and foster unity among its supporters worldwide, the Obidient Movement has officially launched its long-anticipated online registration portal and identity card system.
The initiative is designed to support Nigerians and Obidient members both at home and across the diaspora. Each identity card proudly features a national flag, ensuring that members living abroad can visibly display their countries of residence, highlighting the Movement’s spirit of diversity, unity, and global reach.
At the heart of the new identity card is the “OBX” prefix, a constant feature across all issued IDs. Whether residing in Nigeria or abroad, every card begins with OBX, followed by a unique four-character code representing the member’s Nigerian State and Local Government Area (LGA) for those domiciled in Nigeria, or a three-letter country code for diaspora members. For instance, a UK-based Obidient would see “GBR” featured prominently on their card.
Security and authenticity are top priorities. Each card includes a randomized number sequence to prevent predictability, ensuring that even high-profile individuals, like the Movement’s prominent leaders, have secure and non-sequential IDs. Additionally, a QR code placed at the bottom right of each card allows for real-time authentication via any smartphone scanner, giving members a reliable method to verify each other’s identities.
The online registration portal facilitates an initial verification process, requiring applicants to submit key personal details such as their social media handles, which further aids in authenticating their identity.
Despite these security measures, the Obidient leadership strongly advises members to exercise caution. “We urge all members to conduct thorough independent investigations and due diligence before entering into any personal, business, or formal relationships,” said Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement.
This new development marks a significant milestone in the Movement’s journey — a testament to resilience, unity, and the collective dream of building a better Nigeria.
“Long live the Obidient Movement, and long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the launch statement concluded.
