Nasarawa State Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Sule, has declared that former President Muhammadu Buhari’s unwavering voter base of 12 million remains the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s biggest advantage heading into the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a grand reception for Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr. Labaran Magaji, Governor Sule shut down rumours of Buhari abandoning the APC, insisting the former president is still a powerhouse within the party.
“Buhari’s support is rock-solid. His 12 million votes are still with us, and they’ll be critical to securing victory in 2027,” Sule affirmed.
He praised the enduring political alliance between Buhari and President Bola Tinubu, saying their partnership would continue to fortify the APC’s chances as the elections approach.
On the forthcoming Nasarawa governorship race, Sule acknowledged growing competition but stressed the need for reconciliation and alliances. “Ultimately, only God determines who leads,” he remarked.
The governor also thanked President Tinubu for financial backing that enabled Nasarawa to cover three months’ salaries without federal allocation.
Meanwhile, former Justice Minister Abubakar Malami commended Sule’s strategic appointment of Magaji as SSG, urging political stakeholders to rally behind Magaji’s commitment to transparency and good governance.
