In a poignant display of unity, tradition, and respect, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Eze-Igwe Williams Ezugwu, the Eze Ogbozarra III of Opi Ancient Kingdom, Nsukka in Enugu State, graced the burial ceremony of the late Mama Paulina Amuche Ogbu (JP), bringing royal presence and solidarity to the grieving family and his close friend, Barr. Muhammed Ndarani (SAN), who lost an in-law.
HRM Eze-Igwe Ezugwu, who also reigns as the Igwe of Ibagwa Opi Autonomous Community and Eze Ka Eze 1 of Ideke land Nsukka in Enugu State, arrived in regal fashion, accompanied by members of his royal cabinet. His presence underscored the deep personal connection he shares with Barr. Ndarani and his family.
The funeral, held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Ai-Famu, Owukpa District of Ogbadibo Local Government Area, was a solemn yet dignified occasion that drew dignitaries and mourners from across the region. Mama Paulina, a respected matriarch, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 73.
The day began with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, followed by her interment at the family compound. The ceremony was marked by heartfelt tributes to the life and legacy of the late mother, grandmother, and wife.
The royal father was warmly received by the local government chairman and Barr. Ndarani (SAN), and his wife.
The event highlighted the enduring bonds of friendship across cultural and religious lines.
