The Honorable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, joined the Vice President, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the induction ceremony of two brand-new Agusta 109 Trekker helicopters into the inventory of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The event took place at the Presidential Air Fleet Apron in Abuja on Friday, 16 May 2025.

The induction ceremony was a key highlight of the activities commemorating the 61st anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force.

Also in attendance were the Chief of Defence Staff, General C.G. Musa, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, and other senior personnel of the Armed Forces.
