2025 Children’s Day: SA Basic Education, Ali Mati Ali, Provides Educational Support to over 1,000 Students in Babura LG

The Wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi, led a vibrant celebration of the 2025 International Children’s Day in Babura Local Government Area, featuring colorful festivities, mentorship speeches, and educational support initiatives.

The event, held to honor and inspire children, included the distribution of school uniforms and learning materials to over 1,000 students across the local government. A Spelling Bee competition was also organized to promote academic excellence and boost students’ confidence, with gifts and awards presented to outstanding participants.

The program was organised by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Universal Basic Education, Comrade Ali Mati Ali, who oversees educational affairs in the area. Students from various schools actively participated in the celebration, showcasing their talents and academic abilities.

In her address, the Wife of Jigawa State Governor,Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to child welfare, particularly in the area of education. She commended the students for their active participation and lauded the organizers for their efforts in motivating and empowering the next generation.

Children are the pride of our society and the future leaders of our state and nation,” she said, emphasizing the importance of nurturing their talents through quality education and meaningful opportunities.

Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Basic Education, Comrade Ali Mati Ali, in his remarks, echoed this view, stating that the Children’s Day celebration serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to secure the future of children. He also highlighted the administration’s educational development agenda and acknowledged the support of key stakeholders.

He expressed his gratitude to Governor Mallam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, for his continued efforts to revitalize education at all levels. He also thanked the Wife of the Jigawa State Governor, the Chairman of Babura Local Government, and the Office of the Special Adviser on Basic Education for their crucial roles in ensuring the success of this year’s celebration.

Also speaking at the event, Honourable Hamisu Muhammad Garu, Chairman of Babura Local Government, revealed that the local government had launched a program to combat the issue of out-of-school children by distributing writing materials, school uniforms, and bags to pupils. He reaffirmed the local council’s commitment to supporting the state’s educational policies and initiatives.

The event concluded with the presentation of awards to schools and students who excelled in the competitions, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees and reinforcing the importance of education in shaping a brighter future.
