The Rotary Club of Abuja Sapphire on Friday, May 30, 2025, hosted a high-impact session presided by its President 2024-25, Rotarian Barrister Obiananma Anne Onwukeme.
The guest speaker, PAG Dominic Ifidon, MD, Ph.D., the District Mobilization Chair and Chief Protocol Officer to the District Governor (D9127 2024–25), spoke on the theme “Closing the Rotary Year Well.”

Dr. Ifidon delivered a compelling presentation aimed at energizing Rotarians as they approach the final stretch of the Rotary calendar.
The session, part of the club’s ongoing leadership and service development efforts, highlighted strategic approaches for ending the year with purpose and integrity. Dr. Ifidon emphasized the importance of celebrating achievements, strengthening club unity, and maintaining financial accountability—all essential elements for a successful year-end wrap-up.

“In closing the Rotary year well, we must reflect on our successes, learn from our challenges, and support the leadership transitions that are vital to our collective continuity,” Dr. Ifidon told members.
He praised the Abuja Sapphire club for its public service impact and encouraged members to sustain momentum by fostering inclusion, transparency, and long-term thinking in their project planning.
One of the key takeaways from the session was the need for clubs to develop continuity plans and build partnerships that extend the lifespan and reach of their initiatives. “Our projects must not end with the Rotary year,” Dr. Ifidon noted. “We must think long-term, with scalable plans that serve communities for years to come.”
Dr. Ifidon also shared global best practices and reinforced Rotary’s core values—including the Four-Way Test—as critical to building trust, motivating members, and inspiring support for incoming leadership.
With the Rotary year drawing to a close, the event served as both a reflective and forward-looking forum, aligning the club’s activities with Rotary International’s enduring vision: “Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change.”
The presentation was met with resounding appreciation and intermittent applause, setting the tone for a purposeful and seamless transition into the 2025–26 Rotary year.

The club President, Rotarian Onwukeme appreciated the quest speaker and members for their support in the outgoing Rotary Year.
She presented a plaque and other souvenirs to the speaker.
In his vote of thanks, Rotarian Marcel Ezenwa eulogised the incumbent District Mobilization Chair and Chief Protocol Officer to the District Governor, PAG Dominic Ifidon, for his well delivered lecturer and appreciated all members and guests for their presence.
