“We had a discussion about the urgent needs of the affected communities,” Obi noted. “Where over 200 lives have been lost, about 1,000 persons are still missing, more than 3,000 people have been displaced from their homes, and several homes destroyed.”

In a tangible show of support, Obi announced a ₦20 million donation to aid in relief efforts, underscoring his commitment to standing with the people of Niger State.

“As part of my commitment to stand with the people of Niger State during this difficult time, I made an initial donation of ₦20 million to support the effort of the government,” he said. “And I will continue to support their effort.”

Mr. Obi extended a heartfelt appeal to the Federal Government, humanitarian agencies, and all well-meaning Nigerians to rally support for the embattled communities.
