Nigerian airline Air Peace has issued a strongly worded statement condemning an incident involving Senator Adams Oshiomhole at Murtala Muhammed Airport after he missed his scheduled flight.
The airline clarified that Senator Oshiomhole arrived late for the flight and was unable to board.
According to Air Peace, the lawmaker reacted aggressively upon realizing he had missed departure, disrupting airport operations.
Air Peace stated that upon missing his flight, Senator Oshiomhole “became unruly, physically attacking our staff and blocking the terminal entrance, thereby preventing other passengers from accessing their flights. This behavior is completely unacceptable.”
The airline emphasized its commitment to professionalism and passenger safety, reiterating that all travelers—regardless of social status—must adhere to its boarding protocols. “Air Peace operates with strict discipline and integrity.
“We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward violence and disruptive conduct. Every passenger, irrespective of position, is required to comply with established rules”, the airline insisted.
The statement further reassured travelers that “a contingency plan was immediately activated to ensure that passengers were not unduly inconvenienced. We remain dedicated to delivering seamless and efficient air travel.”
Air Peace expressed its commitment to fairness and due process while urging passengers to uphold civility at all times. “While we respect the rights of all individuals, we must also insist on mutual respect and decorum when using our services. No individual is above the rules that govern safe and orderly travel.”
Senator Oshiomhole has yet to issue a formal response regarding the incident. However, the situation has sparked wider discussions on the conduct of public figures and the enforcement of aviation security protocols.
Air Peace concluded by reaffirming its dedication to high operational standards, stating, “Our priority remains the safety and comfort of every passenger, and we will not tolerate any behavior that undermines this commitment.”
