The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Plateau State Chapter, has commended the Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Caleb Mutfwang, for what it described as “remarkable achievements” across the state’s 17 Local Government Areas, marking the midpoint of his administration.

The commendation, delivered in a statement signed by Hon. Anani Hamisu Mohammed, Chairman of ALGON Plateau State Chapter and National Publicity Secretary of the association, came shortly after the June 12 Democracy Day celebrations, which commemorated the historic 1993 presidential election.

ALGON acknowledged the governor’s accomplishments in the face of serious security challenges, stating that, “Despite security challenges, your leadership has elevated Plateau State to new heights, with tangible results.” The group praised Governor Mutfwang’s performance across key sectors of governance including education, infrastructure, healthcare, the economy, agriculture, security, and employment generation.

The statement further highlighted the governor’s style of leadership as inclusive and grassroots-oriented, noting that, “We commend your local government-friendly approach, fostering synergy and driving development. Your inclusive decision-making process has built trust between government and citizens.”

ALGON credited the administration’s peace-building and security initiatives for contributing to a safer Plateau, while also appreciating the governor’s commitment to improving economic opportunities and empowering the youth.

According to the association, “Your administration’s commitment to addressing security challenges and promoting development has yielded significant results, making Plateau State a safer and more prosperous place.”

The association also acknowledged the federal government’s role in supporting grassroots governance, stating, “We appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ that supports local governments and pray for a brighter future.”

The statement underscored ALGON’s solidarity with Governor Mutfwang’s administration and reaffirmed its support for continued collaboration in driving sustainable development across the state.
