In a bid to foster a healthy work-life balance and enhance staff well-being, the Eastern Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has launched a monthly physical fitness and aerobics program in collaboration with the Association of Heads of Federal Government Establishments (AHFGE), Rivers State chapter.

The initiative, held in Port Harcourt, is part of the Command’s broader strategy to improve employee productivity through wellness and team-building activities. This was disclosed in a press statement signed and made available by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Emmanuel Tangwa.

According to the Customs Area Controller of the Eastern Marine Command, Comptroller Chika Dim, the program aligns with the vision of the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, who has continued to champion the importance of staff welfare and physical health across the service.

Representing the Chairperson of AHFGE, Mrs. Ifeyinwa James, at the event, the Association’s Vice Chairman, Mr. Abdul-Salami Babatunde, commended the Nigeria Customs Service and Comptroller Dim for championing the initiative.

He described the monthly fitness exercise as a welcome development that would support a more productive and healthier federal workforce.
