ALGON Enugu Hails Governor Peter Mbah on Launch of Enugu Air, Describes It as Milestone in Regional Development

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State Chapter, has congratulated Governor Peter Mbah on the successful launch of Enugu Air, describing the milestone as a revolutionary stride in the transport sector and a defining moment for the entire South-East region.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman of ALGON Enugu State Chapter, Hon. Sydney Okey Edeh, the association commended Governor Mbah for his visionary leadership and disruptive approach to governance, which it said has continued to position Enugu State as a beacon of innovation and development.
“ALGON Enugu extends its warmest congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, the State Executive Council, the State Assembly, Judiciary, critical stakeholders, traditional rulers, LGA chairmen and councillors, civil societies, market women, traders associations, youths and friends of the state on the historic launch of Enugu Air, a pioneering airline component of the state’s transport system and the entire South-East,” the statement read.
Describing the move as a clear expression of the “Tomorrow is Here” development agenda of the Mbah-led administration, ALGON noted that the introduction of Enugu Air is poised to transform the state’s transportation architecture, open up new economic frontiers, and enhance Enugu’s status as a commercial and tourism hub.
According to ALGON, the airline will increase domestic flight departures, bridge critical flight gaps, and improve connectivity through the Akanu Ibiam International Airport and other national routes.
“This strategic move will not only boost economic growth but also unlock tourism and export potentials, further solidifying Enugu State’s position as a hub for commerce and industry,” the statement added.
ALGON also highlighted the positive implications of the new airline on market dynamics and competition in the aviation sector, stating that the entry of Enugu Air will offer travelers more options and potentially better pricing.
The association expressed pride in Governor Mbah’s transformative initiatives in various sectors, including smart education infrastructure, road construction, healthcare delivery, pipe-borne water projects, bridges, mass housing, agriculture, and public safety, saying that Enugu Air is another bold imprint in his economic development blueprint.
“We celebrate this milestone achievement and reaffirm our unalloyed commitment to supporting the Governor’s unfailing initiatives that have continued to promote growth and prosperity of Enugu State,” Hon. Edeh concluded.
