PWYP, NSWG Condole with NMCO Director General

The Publish What You Pay Nigeria (PWYP) and the National Stakeholders Working Group (NSWG) on the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) paid a courtesy condolence visit to the Director General of the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (NMCO), Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom.

The visit was in response to the passing of the NMCO’s former Director General, Engr. Amate. During the visit, the PWYP and NSWG delegations expressed their heartfelt condolences to the DG and the entire NMCO family, praying for the repose of the departed soul.

Representing the Director General, Engr. Mustapher, Director of Monitoring and Coordination Department, NMCO, appreciated the gesture, highlighting the importance of collaboration and solidarity in advancing the extractive industries sector. Publish What You Pay Nigeria (PWYP) and the National Stakeholders Working Group (NSWG) on the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) paid a courtesy condolence visit to the Director General of the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (NMCO), Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom.

Dr. Erisa Dauda, head of the group delegation, reiterated PWYP’s commitment to working with NMCO to promote transparency, accountability, and sustainable development in the mining sector. A template was presented for further input and final completion.

The visit underscored the strong working relationship and mutual respect between PWYP, NSWG, and NMCO. Management staff of NMCO and delegations from NEITI, NSWG, and PWYP were present at the occasion.

The condolence visit demonstrated the organizations’ respect for the departed leader and their commitment to continuing his legacy of promoting transparency and accountability in the extractive sector.

The NMCO family appreciates the gesture and looks forward to continued collaboration with PWYP and NSWG in advancing the mining sector.
